Bill
| Bill Psalm 22:4-5 - In you our fathers trusted; they trusted, and you delivered them. To you they cried and were rescued; in you they trusted and were not put to shame. (ESV) Bill was our show horse. He was a gaited horse, a beautiful racker. He had five different gaits, or manners in which he lifted his feet, that made him a smooth rider. The rack was his best: a fast, flashy, four-beat gait in which his feet touched the ground separately and at equal intervals. He was a beautiful horse, our best, and loved to show off his strut once he arrived at the shows. But Bill had one flaw: he was spooked out by the loading ramp of the truck. Unknown to his previous owner, the horse trainer had beaten Bill, and the loading ramp was one of his hang-ups from abuse. He would not trust us or obey us to walk up the ramp. Instead, he would be so frightened that he would shake, tremble, and quiver until the ramp was removed. Then, taking a giant leap, he would jump into the truck. How much easier loading would have been if only he could have trusted us! How many times do we, like Bill, forget that God is in our corner, if only we will turn to Him and trust Him! We find ourselves losing sleep, worrying, fretting, and suffering unfounded anxiety, all because we have not turned to God with our issues. Some who have not yet learned that God is trustworthy may feel that that is a giant leap! But God is trustworthy! His Word guarantees it. As the song Trust and Obey tells us: For the favour He shows, For the joy He bestows, Are for them who will trust and obey. What He says we will do, Where He sends we will go; Never fear, only trust and obey. John H. Sammis How much easier our problems are to bear when we are in partnership with God. The peace of mind that trusting brings is so comforting. I had to put this principle into practice in my own life when driving home awhile ago. The pharmacy called me on my cell and told me that my medicare plan was rejecting my card for payment of a very expensive prescription. I had done my homework, so I placed my trust in God that they would get it worked out, and they did. That is peace of mind. Prayer: O God, when an issue seems difficult at best, we need to remember to give our problems to You. We thank You for faith to believe in help that is ours only by turning to You, trusting, and obeying. Amen. Freda Van Winkle frforte@citznet.com Warren, Indiana, USA |

I Love My Church
- Paul was a great leader and example for many Christians. He advised us that we should love our church because the church is God’s household.
Peter said: For you were like sheep going astray, but now you have returned to the shepherd and overseer of your souls. (1 Peter 2:25)
- We have been wandering around in the past with no direction.
- We now have been taken care of by of by the church.
- We belong to one church, one pastor. Our church has been faithful to us.
- We should be loyal and faithful and serve our own church.
If you are still wandering around now and feel thirsty in your heart, Jesus said: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)
- In our spiritual family we must use all our abilities to provide all necessities.
- 1 Corinthians 14:12-26 tells us we are to desire and pray for gifts which edify the church and build the church up.
- The primary purpose for which all of the spiritual gifts are given is to build up the Church, the Body of Christ.
- If we reject each other or refuse to perform our own functions because of these differences, the whole Body suffers.
- Psalms 122:6 tells us to pray for the church, pray for the leaders and pastor.
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. (1 John 4:7-11)
- God is not only living but is also love.
- Let us spread this love to other people.
- Invite people to our church, our home, the home of the living God.
Conclusion
Let's make our church a place where people will thirst to come. The place of the living God should be like these verses:
How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. (Psalms 84:1-2)
Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. (Psalms 84:10)
HELLO EVERYONE!
Just to keep everyone updated on the current standing of our church numbers:
On average, every week we have a congregation of about 60+ people attending service. During special events such as Mother's Day and Youth Praise and Worship, we have close to 80.
Our Thursday cell group at the moment stands at about 20 regulars, and including irregular members there're about 30+ of us.
Other fellowship groups in our church are: Adult Sunday School, High School Fellowship, Family Fellowship, Prayer Meeting, Working Adults Fellowship and Bible Class.
